What became of the Laptop Lads?

Hi folks!

As you might have noticed, this blog is kinda DEAD. It's not sad, it was on time. We just stopped blogging, that's all.

Thanks to everyone who have visited us, and if you miss me, check out the fashion-and-art-blog Starfish & Pink Clouds , where I'll be posting some tunes every once in a while.

FINAL FINAL

So, this is what's happening with the Late Night Laptop Lads:

Edvard has started producing/remixing his own tracks (they're pretty awesome), and I'm still writing a blog that now has over 9 000 visitors (thanks). Anyway, Ed got together with the Norwegian FINAL and now they have done the best remix of Major Lazer's Pon de Floor. Imagine a cool remix of the track, and I'll promise you this is better. Your neighbours should hate me for this (and it's 320):

Major Lazer - Pon de Floor (Final x Edvard Remix)

Also, check out FINAL's new single, to be released soon:

Well, it's Saturday night, so I'll just put the Pon de Floor remix on my iPod and hope that tonight's party has an AUX-cable!

Move While You're Watching Me

Little Boots' next single Remedy will released on August 17th, including remixes by A1 Bassline, Buffetlibre and the dubstep-god Rusko. The video is already released on youtube by Little Boots herself, and I must say I like it way better than the New In Town video.

Rusko never disappoints me, and I'm glad we finally can enjoy a 320 MP3 of this, and delete the old radio rip.

Little Boots - Remedy (Rusko's Big Trainers Remix)

Move over to Disco Dust to download the other remixes.

Edit:
Talkin about Rusko, here is what he wrote on his twitter some minutes ago:

Review: Felix Da Housecat - He Was King

To be honest, I've never been that much interested in Felix da Housecat until now. I really enjoyed Kittenz and Thee Glitz, but I haven't really checked out his later stuff. That was until I heard Kickdrum and Elvi$ and found out I really had missed something. Felix' new album He Was King is a great mix of pure electro synth-pop (Do We Move Your World, Spank U Very Much and We) and club bangers (Elvi$ and LA Ravers).

I think that He Was King is what Tiga wanted Ciao! to sound like. Felix make lyrics like Feel like killing myself / put a shotgun to my head an blast it sound sweet, and I think the naive and funny Plastic Fantastic is what Tiga actually wanted Shoes to be. Also, a big plus is all the female vocals.

When I first heard the album, I wanted to write a track-by-track review, but I think Felix himself describes the tracks better than I do:

‘HE WAS KING’ – TRACK BY TRACK By FELIX DA HOUSECAT

1. We All Wanna Be Prince “Every lyric on that record is from a Prince song. I’m sure Prince is going to hear this!“

2. Plastik Fantastik “Straight up sexy”

3. KickDrum “You know this one!”

4. Do We Move Your World “Very Human League inspired, my straight up 80s

5. We “Four minute electro-synth workout”

6. Spank You Very Much “A much slower version of Sex Shooter”

7. Do Not Try This At Home “This has a Tom Tom Club type vibe!”

8. Turn Me On A Summer Smile “Quentin Tarantino style live bass, live guitar and spooky keyboards!”

9. Elvi$ “2manydjs and Erol have been hammering this”

10. LA Ravers “This is the whole chopped up ‘Tweak’ vibe”

11. Machine “This is like those Russian girls Tatu! That’s my other electro pop moment. The one to make you smile!”

12. He Was King “This is my new ‘Pray For a Star’ and that’s a BIG STATEMENT because that’s my favorite song I ever made. This is right up there!

I'm pretty sure that He Was King will be on my list of this year's best albums. You can decide for yourself by grabbing the album when it drops on 24th August.

Back

I'm back after some weeks without Internet connection! And in the meanwhile, Google has taken down some posts, and the blog looks kinda dull. But don't worry; my inbox is full of tunes you want to hear.

The Sydney-based R!M!E has made the first decent remix of Major Lazer's hit Pon De Floor. It sounds great if you mix it with the original (I just tried).

Major Lazer - Pon De Floor (R!M!E Remix)

I've been waiting for a release date for Kid Sister's debut album for some months now, and the last and final (hopefully) date is October 6th. The first single is out now, and it's produced by Sebastian Ingrosso and Steve Angello of the Swedish House Mafia.

Kid Sister - Right Hand Hi

A wobble bass doesn't always mean 140 BPM dubstep. This remix of Acidkids' Mad Mahoney by Trevor Loveys shows us that a bassline like that can lift an electro banger too. Tasty! The single includes some sweet remixes, and it's available both digital and on vinyl.

So, I thought I might start a new trend and put up a list of my monthly favourites. I don't think I'll be posting links to them (if I haven't already posted them here), so you should check them out on YouTube, Spotify, or some other blogs, and buy them if you like them. Enjoy!
